Import reviews from CSV file for your products

This guide provides clear steps for importing reviews from a CSV file into Ryviu.

Plan requirement:
This feature is only for Ryviu paid plans.

👉 Step 1: Prepare Your CSV File

We highly recommend preparing your CSV file in Google Spreadsheet, so the CSV template is not affected by your Excel settings and does not cause any issues during import.

Ensure that each CSV file includes no more than 50 products.

If you modify your file using Excel, please save it as a CSV UTF-8 (comma-delimited) (*.csv) or a CSV (comma-delimited) (*.csv) file.
We recommend using Google Sheets over Excel to edit CSV files for better handling of formatting and delimiters, avoiding import errors.

Import by using Ryviu CSV template file.

1. Ensure your CSV template is correct with Ryviu CSV template file.

2. Review data should be formatted as specified below.

   • product_handle (required): The product handle (Shopify), or slug (WooCommerce) of the products you want to import reviews for should be used.

   • rating (required): Valid values range from 1 to 5(1/2/3/4/5). Use whole numbers only, for example, 5.

   • title: review's title. For example, "Awesome!"

   • author (required): name of reviewers.

   • email: Email of reviewers (you can add example emails, such as: [email protected]).

   • body_text: Review text.

   • photo_urls: Photos URLs of reviews. Add all image URLs, separated by commas, for reviews with multiple photos in this column. You can check the article “How to add photos to CSV file“ to learn more.

   • created_at: The format should be Year-Month-Date Hour: Minute, for example, 2019-09-23 09:12. If the date format in your CSV file is incorrect, as required, reviews will be added to your Ryviu dashboard in real time when you import the CSV.

   • status: enable or disable.

   • featured: "1" is the featured review, and "0" is not a featured review.

3. After entering your review information in the template, download it as a CSV file.

   

4. Import CSV following Step 2.

Import by using the CSV template of your previous review app

For past users of the apps listed below, we offer a seamless import process with the following review solution apps: Ryviu, Loox, Judge.me, Product Reviews by Shopify, and the Rivo app. Please export your reviews from your previous app, then import them using Step 2.

Our app will use the image links from your store's previous review app. However, if you no longer use that app, you may lose your images if it shuts down your image links.

👉 Step 2: Import reviews from CSV file

1. Log in to your Ryviu account.

2. Navigate to Reviews dashboard manager.

3. Click the Import CSV button.

   

4. In CSV format, select the app to which your CSV template file belongs.

   

5. Click Add file button

6. Select your CSV file.

7. If your CSV file contains products in Ryviu that already have reviews, select one of the three options below to import the CSV.

   • Replace items: Replace existing product reviews in the Ryviu dashboard with reviews from a CSV file.

   • Merge items: Combine the current product reviews in the Ryviu dashboard with new reviews from the CSV file.

   • Skip items: This option prevents importing reviews from the CSV file into products in the Ryviu dashboard.

8. Click the Import button.
