When importing reviews via CSV or manually embedding Ryviu custom code, you will often need your Shopify Product Handle or Product ID. This quick guide will show you exactly what they are and where to find them in seconds.
Let’s look at a typical Shopify product URL: https://your-store.myshopify.com/admin/products/8475960418536
And its public store link: https://your-store.com/products/men-slim-fit-jeans
Product ID: A unique, permanent sequence of numbers generated by Shopify to identify a specific product (e.g., 8475960418536).
Product Handle: The SEO-friendly, user-readable part of the URL, usually generated from your product title (e.g., men-slim-fit-jeans).
There are two easy ways to find your product handle:
Go to your live, public online store.
Navigate to the product page.
Look at your browser’s address bar. The handle is the very last part of the URL after /products/.
Example: In https://mystore.com/products/red-canvas-shoes the handle is red-canvas-shoes.
Log in to your Shopify Admin dashboard.
Go to Products and click on the product you need.
Scroll all the way down to the Search engine listing section.
The text shown after products/ in the preview is your product handle.

You can find the Product ID directly inside your Shopify Admin dashboard URL:
Log in to your Shopify Admin dashboard.
Go to Products and select your product.
Look at the browser’s address bar (URL). Your product ID is the long string of numbers at the very end of the URL.

CSV Imports: When creating a Ryviu import template, put the Product Handle in the product_handle column.
Custom Code/Widgets: If you are displaying reviews on non-product pages, you will need to replace the placeholders in the Ryviu snippet code with both the Product ID and Product Handle.
